The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. Thepair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil theporridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boilwhile they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added insome milk. Jenna found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next,Jeff turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everythingwas going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot andthe bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into thesink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fireso it cooked nicely.

Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put outthe fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gasquickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jeff to clean it up so theycould continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff’s hand touched the hotburner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the panhad turned black as well.

With the rapid development of science and technology, online learning is becoming more and more popular. At present, online learning is a common way of learning. I have been learning online for a long period.

Online learning is playing a very important role in education. Online courses indeed have brought me a lot of surprises and benefits. Online learning can provide flexible learning opportunities.Therefore, we don’t have to worry about missing some important points.

Dear Jim,

Howis everything going? We have planned to go for a walk in Haidian Park this weekend, where we could enjoy the beautiful scenery of early spring. But I am afraid I couldn’t make it.

I was severely injured in a soccer game last night. The doctor examined me carefully and toldme that I had to stay in bed for at least one week. I asked him whether there wasany possibility that I could recover faster, yet the answer was negative. My conditiondoesn’t allow me to go anywhere until my legs are fully recovered.

It is a pity for me to miss this trip that I have been longing for. Shall we put it off until next weekend if the weather permits? Looking forward to your reply.
