make sure意為“確保”。make sure that...意思是說：“讓that 從句里面說的事情做到萬無一失。”make 是“使令性”動詞，意思是“使、讓”;sure 是形容詞，意為“可靠的;穩(wěn)當?shù)?穩(wěn)妥的;有把握的，萬無一失的”。

make sure的用法

1、接that 從句及其從句的時態(tài)。

make sure 如果是現(xiàn)在時，或者祈使句形式(原形)，that從句的時態(tài)應該使用現(xiàn)在時間范疇的時態(tài)，如：一般現(xiàn)在時，現(xiàn)在進行時，一般將來時等。

例句：

They want to make sure the newcomers don't get a look-in.

他們不想讓新人有露臉的機會。

Make sure the draining board, sink and plug hole are regularly disinfected.

2、make sure 除了接從句外，還可以接不定式，但不能接動名詞。
