is for的意思：是為了。例如：His research is for the betterment of mankind。他的研究是為全人類造福。

第一個說法是對的The shoes are only $10!is是謂語動詞，這樣才是完整的句子。第二句用for是錯的，整個句子沒有謂語動詞啊。

1.表示“當作、作為”。如：

I like some bread and milk for breakfast. 我喜歡把面包和牛奶作為早餐。

What will we have for supper? 我們晚餐吃什么?

2.表示理由或原因，意為“因為、由于”。如：
