dictionary可以用作名詞

dictionary的基本意思是“詞典,字典”,指按一定順序如字母表等排列的,包括拼寫、發(fā)音、詞性、詞形變化、釋義、用法及詞源等方面內(nèi)容的工具書。

在表示“查字典”時, dictionary須用動詞consult, search, turn up或use,不可用look for, look for的賓語可以是詞,但不可以是“詞典”。

在表示“關(guān)于某方面的詞典”時, dictionary后面接介詞of,而不接介詞on, about。
