這些名詞均含有“居住處”之意。
house中性詞，泛指一切供居住的建筑物，尤指適合一家一戶居住的房屋。
building泛指一切建筑物，不限于居住的房子。
dwelpng正式用詞，僅指人們居住的任何建筑物。
shelter可指長期或臨時的住處，也指簡陋或臨時搭建的躲避風雨的場所。
