else和other的區(qū)別

語序不同

other 和 else 都是形容詞，但用法不同；都可以作定語，但位置不一樣。和很多形容詞一樣，other 表示別的，放在名詞之前；else 也是個形容詞，但是它常用來修飾不定代詞、疑問詞，而且 else 放在修飾的詞后面！

比如，你不能說 else books（×），你只能說 other books；不能說 else someone，你只能說 someone else，漢語說 “別的啥”，英語說“what else”

所有格不同

注意兩種表達“別的”，再用到所有格的時候，又有不同：比如

別的學(xué)生的：other students'

別的某人的：someone else's

It's nobodyelse's. It's just mine. 不是別人的，正好是我的。

也就是說，用 other 的時候，所有格符號 ‘s 或者 ’加在名詞后面，用else的時候，加在 else 后面。

Who else will go to the meeting?還有誰要參加會議？

What else do you want?你還需要其他的什么嗎？

Do you have any other questions?你還有其它問題嗎？

Lily alone has come, all the other girls are late. 只有麗麗來，別的女孩都遲到了。

I have two pens. One is red, the other one is blue.我有兩支鋼筆，一支是紅色的，另一支是藍色的。
