arrive的意思

vi. 到達(dá)，來；發(fā)生；

arrive的用法

1. 表示“到達(dá)”，是不及物動詞。如：

When I arrived Ann had just left. 我到的時候，安剛剛離開。

Must I arrive there before it gets dark? 我必須要在天黑前抵達(dá)嗎?

2. 要表示“到達(dá)某地”，通常要用介詞 at（一般用于較小的地方）或in（一般用于較大的地方）。如：

We arrived in London in the morning. 早上我們抵達(dá)倫敦。

We arrived at the airport too early for our flight. 我們趕航班到達(dá)機(jī)場太早了。

3. arrive, get, reach 的區(qū)別：

(1) arrive 和 get 為不及物動詞，前者較正式，后者則較口語化；兩者之后均不可接賓語，但可接 here, there, home 之類的表地點(diǎn)的副詞作狀語；要表示到達(dá)某地，需借助適當(dāng)介詞：arrive at [in] a place, get to a place等。

(2) reach 為及物動詞，其后可直接跟地點(diǎn)名詞作賓語（不能用介詞），同時它也可后接here, there, home等詞。

6. A deluge of manuscripts began to arrive in the post.
