provide的用法

provide的用法一般分為四種，下面易學(xué)啦為大家一一講解。

一、provide作"提供；供給"講時(shí)，常用于以下結(jié)構(gòu)：

1. 接名詞作賓語。

It is said that the management will provide food and drink.據(jù)說管理部門將供應(yīng)飲食。

2. 用于provide sth. for sb.結(jié)構(gòu)，即"向某人提供某物"，也可用provide sb.with sth. 結(jié)構(gòu)。這兩者意思相同，可互換，但介詞不可混淆。

They provided some necessary support for the sufferers.他們?yōu)槭茈y者提供了一些必要的援助。

二、provide作"規(guī)定"講時(shí)，其后通常接從句作賓語。

The local law provides that valuable ancient buildings must be protected by the government.當(dāng)?shù)胤梢?guī)定，政府必須保護(hù)那些有價(jià)值的古建筑。

三、provide常用的習(xí)語結(jié)構(gòu)：

1. provide against... 為......作好準(zhǔn)備；預(yù)防......。

2. provide for 提供生活費(fèi)，養(yǎng)活。

四、provide的過去分詞形式provided和V-ing形式providing均可作連詞，用來引導(dǎo)條件從句，意為"如果......的話；只要......"?？芍苯咏訌木?，也可加上that，二者可互換，但在正式文體中多用provided。
