neither的用法

1. neither用作形容詞，表示“(兩者)都不”，置于單數名詞之前。

Neither article is made in Beijing. 這兩種物品都不是北京制造的。

I will participate in neither game. 那兩項比賽我都不參加。

We discussed neither subject.這兩個問題我們都沒有討論。

提醒注意：在口語中以not... either...替換neither使用的情形也很多。例如：

They bought neither house. = They didn't buy either house. 兩間房子他們都沒

買。

2. neither用作代詞，表示“兩者都不，雙方均不”。例如：

He answered neither of the letters. 他兩封信都沒回。

She bought two toys, but neither can please the child. 她買了兩個玩具，卻沒有

一個能讓小孩高興。

—Which one would you like? 你喜歡哪一個？

—Neither. 兩個都不喜歡。

此時，與neither用法較為接近的詞是none，但none的含義略有不同，none

表示“(三者以上)所有的……都不”。例如：

None of us are perfect. 人無完人。

提醒注意：neither作主語時，通常被視為單數，但從意義上講也可視為復數。

Neither of the cars was / were damaged. 兩部車都沒有受損。

3. neither用作連詞，常用短語為neither...nor...，表示“既不……也不……”。

例如：

Neither he nor I am well educated. 他和我都沒受過良好教育。

I have neither time nor money. 我既沒時間也沒錢。

The novel is neither realistic nor poetic.那部小說既不寫實也沒有詩意。

提醒注意：

①neither和nor后面接同一詞性的單詞或短語。

②neither...nor...結構用作主語時，謂語動詞必須與nor后面的名詞或代詞在

人稱及數上保持一致，即所謂的就近原則。

③在表示“既……也……”，即“兩者都……”時，常用短語both...and...；

表示“或者……或者……”(即二者選一)時，常用短語either...or...。

4. neither用作副詞，作“也不”解釋，放在句首，表示前面否定的內容也適

用于另一個人或物，句子須采用部分倒裝。此時也可用nor替換neither使用。

—I don't like this dress. 我不喜歡這件連衣裙。

—Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜歡。

If you don't suppose the plan, neither / nor will I. 如果你不支持那項計劃，我也不支持。

either和neither的用法對比

either意思是"兩者中的任何一個",neither意思是"兩者都不",兩個詞在句中都可以充當主語、賓語、定語和同位語.

①作主語時,可單獨使用,也可以與of連用,either,neither接謂語動詞一般用單數形式,但這兩者在口語中作主語時,其后

的謂語動詞也可以用復數.

例如：

Either(of them)is OK.(他們兩個中)任何一個都行.

②作賓語,可單獨使用,也可以與of連用,放在動詞或介詞之后.例如：

I don't know which book is the better；I shall read both.我不知道這兩本書哪一本好,所以我兩本都讀.

③作定語,either和neither后面接單數名詞.例如：
