賓語從句（Object Clauses)

賓語是句子的一個重要成分，它可以由名詞、代詞、名詞短語或句子充當。當一個句子充當賓語時，這個句子就被稱為賓語從句。賓語從句與主句之間由連接詞來連接。

1. 引導詞

引導賓語從句的引導詞按所引導的句子結(jié)構(gòu)特點可以分為三類：

1）that 引導的賓語從句（that 在口語或非正式文體中常省略）

如：I know (that) he is a Canadian athlete.

我知道他是一名加拿大運動員。

2）If/whether引導的賓語從句

if和whether 都可以引導賓語從句，意為“是否”，且在從句中不充當任何句子成分，兩者通常能互換，但不可省略。從句表一般疑問的意義。

如：I don't know if it is polite in Japan.

我不知道在日本這樣是否禮貌。

whether與if引導賓語從句時，一般可以通用，但下列情況下，whether不可換用if

①從句中有or not時

如：I don't know whether or not it rains.

我不知道會不會下雨。

②有些動詞后面只能跟whether不能跟if，如discuss

③從句充當介詞賓語時
