c.時(shí)間推算

一般來說，正確答案不會(huì)是直接聽到的時(shí)間，往往是在意思上與之相同或相近，或換了一種表達(dá)方式，或要求在聽到的時(shí)間信息的基礎(chǔ)上進(jìn)行簡單的運(yùn)算。做這類題時(shí)，聽清時(shí)間與發(fā)生時(shí)間的關(guān)系是關(guān)鍵。注意下面有關(guān)時(shí)間提前或推后的表達(dá)法：

提前或提早半小時(shí)：half an hour early; thirty minutes early; early by half an hour; half an hour ahead of time; half an hour ahead of schedule

推遲或遲到半小時(shí)：an hour and a half late; late by one hour and a half; an hour and a half behind time; an hour and a half behind schedule; to miss…,by an hour and a half; to be delayed/prolonged/put off/postponed for an hour and a half.

b.分?jǐn)?shù)和小數(shù)的表達(dá)

分?jǐn)?shù)讀法是以基數(shù)詞為分子，序數(shù)詞為分母(1/2除外，分子大于1時(shí)，序數(shù)詞加s)。例如：

1/2: one half

1/4: one fourth; one quarter

3/4: three quarters

9/10: nine tenths

8:7: eight to seven

小數(shù)的讀法比較簡單，按照數(shù)詞的順序逐個(gè)讀，遇到小數(shù)點(diǎn)讀做point，零讀做zero。例如：

0.6: zero point six

12.65: twelve point sis five

0.5%: decimal five percent

c.貨幣名稱和價(jià)格的讀法

英國貨幣：penny便士(復(fù)數(shù)形式pence)。pound英鎊: 1pound=100pence,20.60讀作:twenty pounds sixty pence 或者簡單讀作twenty sixty:

美國貨幣coin:硬幣: quarter25美分: dime10美分; nickel 5美分;penny 1美分; 1dollar=100cents

$20.60讀作： twenty dollars sixty cents 或者簡單讀作 twenty sixty;

英語中原價(jià)一般放在商品名稱之前作定語，而實(shí)際所付款則由介詞來引導(dǎo)。例如：

He bought a twenty-dollars sweater for half price.

他用半價(jià)買了一件原價(jià)為20美元的運(yùn)動(dòng)衫。

I bought a ninety-dollar suit for one third off the regular price.

我用比原價(jià)少1/3的價(jià)錢買了套90美元的衣服。

大家還應(yīng)該熟悉聽力中以下有關(guān)價(jià)格的常用單詞和詞組：

表示正常價(jià)格：regular price, normal price;

表示價(jià)格劃算：a good buy, a better buy, an excellent price, a good price/bargain;

表示價(jià)格較貴：dear, expensive, more expensive, steep;

表示價(jià)格便宜：cheap, inexpensive, bargain price, less expensive;

表示減價(jià)出售：sale price, on sale, garage sale, Christmas sale, special price;

詞組;discount , half, double, cut off, knock off, 20% off the price(), twice as much as, cross off, etc.

d.其他與數(shù)字有關(guān)的英語表達(dá)方式

couple一對;dozen一打;twice兩次;three times三次;double增加兩倍;triple增加三倍

e.一些容易混淆的數(shù)字

特別是-teen 和–ty的區(qū)別，首先，teen和 ty在發(fā)音上不同，前者為[ti:n]，后者為[ti];其次，這兩個(gè)后綴構(gòu)成的音節(jié)在單詞中的重音有區(qū)別，前者構(gòu)成的數(shù)字有兩個(gè)重讀音節(jié)，后者構(gòu)成的音節(jié)不重讀。
