Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “A man is known by his friends.” You can cite one example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

If you are outgoing and dynamic, you will be likely to choose friends who are different from you, to give you the most colorful life possible. If you are more introverted, you may prefer to choose friends who are similar to you, as they will be very predictable.

Having friends who are different from you and introducing you to their lifestyles can help broaden your range of experiences and horizons. They can improve your personal development by exposing you to people, places or things you may have no opportunity to contact on your own. This type of relationship with friends can be very rewarding. On the other hand, having friends who are very similar to you may allow you to feel much more comfortable around them, because they are very predictable.

As for myself, I prefer to make friends who have a different way of life. If comfort and predictability were important to me, perhaps I would choose friends who were similar to me, but because variety is the spice of life, I always seek out new experiences.

性格外向奔放的人為使個人生活更加多姿多彩，可能會選擇跟自己性格不同的人交朋友。相反，內(nèi)向的人會偏愛與自己性格相似的人做朋友，因為這類人的秉性自己一清二楚。

就我而言，我喜歡結交跟我生活方式不同的朋友。如果很在意跟朋友待在一起是否舒服，是否熟悉朋友的性格，那么我會選擇跟我性格相似的人做朋友。但多樣化是生活的調味品，所以我會不斷尋覓新鮮的經(jīng)歷。
