② ensure：確保

eg：Please ensure (that) all lights are switched off.

③當(dāng)表示"保證"的意思，兩者通用，英國(guó)人愛(ài)用ensure，美國(guó)人愛(ài)用insure。

eg：Our precautions ensured/insured our safety.
