          When I left college, I wanted to go into hotel and cateringwork so I took up a position as a receptionistto learn some front of house skills.

          Working for a chain of hotels opened up opportunities and I was accepted as a junior manager after 2 years and was promoted to Front of House Manager after another year. I then moved to a more prestigioushotel within the group as Assistant Manager reporting to the General Manager and was there for 2 years gaining really good experience in budgeting and financial management, planning, organising and directing all hotel services, including front-of-house: reception, concierge, reservations, food and beverageoperations and housekeeping.

          I held full responsibility for staff management and motivation, food control and sales, wine and liquorstocks, including the planning and coordinating of menus, being very experienced and capable of advising customers on menu and wine choice. I am also acknowledged as being very good at meeting and greeting customers and organising table reservations.

          After another 2 years I accepted a position as Deputy Manager of a privately owned, 400 year old convertedYorkshire farmhouse set in 80 acres on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds specialising in the highest levels of customer care and personal service with 14 guest bedrooms, 3 self catering cottages, conference and event facilities for up to 85 guests and a Farmhouse Restaurant Bar for up to 55 guests.

          I have been fully accountable for the business performance of restaurants which involved analysing and planning restaurant sales levels and maintaining profitabilityand preparing regular reports for management. I have organised rotas for all departments i.e. Housekeeping, Reception Weddings and Events and the Restaurant which covers breakfasts, lunches, conferences and dinners. I have also instigatedand implemented a direct marketing strategy to increase sales leading to significant improvements in the Restaurant business; I maximised sales revenues through up-selling and planning of marketing programmes.

          So, when I saw your advert for the General Managers position I was really excited as I had just started to think about looking for a similar role and I am confident of having the Hotel and Catering management skills and experience that you require. As I mentioned, I am extensively experienced in the trade, which includes front of house, restaurants, bar and functions management. With my excellent organizational ability and interpersonal skills I run operations efficiently and profitably, and provide the highest levels of customer service, in fact I was 2020 winner in the Real Welcome category of the Welcome to Yorkshire Tourism Awards.

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、涉及到簡歷內(nèi)容的自我介紹,內(nèi)容一定要與個(gè)人簡歷相一致;

          2、表述方式上盡量口語化;

          3、要切中要害,不談無關(guān)、無用的內(nèi)容;

          4、條理要清晰,層次要分明;

          問題二:你為什么選擇我們公司?

          有些面試者在回答這個(gè)問題的時(shí)候,多是從個(gè)人角度展開話題,比如:希望有更好的發(fā)展空間、希望得到鍛煉的機(jī)會、希望能得到更好的待遇等。但事實(shí)上,面試官是想知道你的面試動機(jī)和公司招聘崗位的目的是否一致。也就是說,面試官更關(guān)注你來到公司后能給公司帶來什么,而并非公司能給你帶來什么。

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、面試官試圖從中了解你求職的動機(jī)、愿望以及對此項(xiàng)工作的態(tài)度;

          2、建議從行業(yè)、企業(yè)和崗位這三個(gè)角度來回答。

          問題三:你能為我們做什么?

          這個(gè)問題與上面的問題可以歸屬于同一個(gè)類型,只不過問得更為直接。作為應(yīng)聘者,之前做好功課是必須的,比如了解公司的概況、產(chǎn)品、服務(wù),以及你所應(yīng)聘的崗位要求,然后充分結(jié)合所應(yīng)聘公司的要求展開話題即可。

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、基本原則上投其所好;

          2、招聘單位一般會錄用這樣的應(yīng)聘者:基本符合條件、對這份共組感興趣、有足夠的信心;

          3、回答這個(gè)問題前應(yīng)聘者最好能先發(fā)制人,了解招聘單位期待這個(gè)職位所能發(fā)揮的作用;

          這個(gè)問題是最讓應(yīng)屆畢業(yè)生頭痛的問題之一。沒有工作經(jīng)驗(yàn),在與有工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)的應(yīng)聘者共同競爭時(shí),似乎就沒了底氣。難道所有的公司都不會聘用應(yīng)屆畢業(yè)生嗎?并非如此。首先你要明白的是,既然有機(jī)會來到面試現(xiàn)場,就說明此招聘公司是會聘用應(yīng)屆畢業(yè)生的。作為面試者,并沒有高低貴賤之分,大家都在同樣的起跑線上,只要你發(fā)揮足夠出色,就能夠贏得面試官對你的信任和期待。

          面試官問這個(gè)問題時(shí)的真正意圖并不在于讓你指出可預(yù)見的困難究竟是哪些,而是想知道當(dāng)你面對困難時(shí)的態(tài)度是如何的。

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、不宜直接說出具體的困難,否則可能令對方懷疑你能力不行;

          2、可以嘗試迂回戰(zhàn)術(shù),說出面對困難所持有的態(tài)度工作中出現(xiàn)一些困難是正常的,也是難免的,但是只要有堅(jiān)忍不拔的毅力、良好的合作精神以及事前周密而充分的準(zhǔn)備,任何困難都是可以克服的。

          問題七:談?wù)勀愕娜秉c(diǎn)

          這是一個(gè)相對危險(xiǎn),但如果能回答好,就可以化險(xiǎn)為夷的問題。如果你回答沒有缺點(diǎn),會有故意掩蓋缺點(diǎn)的不誠實(shí)之嫌;如果你把缺點(diǎn)說得過多、過細(xì),只會令面試官大驚失色,你的工作機(jī)會也就跟著飛走了。折中的辦法當(dāng)然有,如下:

          問題八:說說你的某一次失敗經(jīng)歷

          誰都有過失敗的經(jīng)歷,面試官提出這個(gè)問題的目的并不是讓你訴說失敗故事,而是看你在面對失敗時(shí)所采取的做法以及所持的態(tài)度。在失敗案例的選擇上,千萬不要與所應(yīng)聘的工作相關(guān),否則結(jié)果只能是自毀前程。

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、不宜說自己沒有失敗的經(jīng)歷;

          2、不宜把那些明顯的成功說成是失敗;

          3、不宜說出嚴(yán)重影響所應(yīng)聘工作的失敗經(jīng)歷;

          4、宜說明失敗之前自己曾信心百倍、盡心盡力;

          5、說明僅僅是由于外在客觀原因?qū)е率?

          不要不經(jīng)思索上來就大展宏圖,畢竟你對你的工作職責(zé)和工作內(nèi)容了解不夠多。否則不僅實(shí)現(xiàn)的可能性令人質(zhì)疑,更會讓面試官覺得你是個(gè)做事沒有計(jì)劃性的魯莽之人。不如從處事態(tài)度入手來談你的想法,這樣至少不會出什么大問題。

          回答問題要點(diǎn):

          1、如果你對于應(yīng)聘的職位缺乏足夠的了解,最好不要直接說出自己開展工作的具體辦法;

          2、可以嘗試采用迂回戰(zhàn)術(shù)來回答,如首先聽取領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的指示和要求,然后就有關(guān)情況進(jìn)行了解和熟悉,接下來制定一份近期的工作計(jì)劃并報(bào)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)批準(zhǔn),最后根據(jù)計(jì)劃開展工作。
