你會使用apply嗎

1.applyforsth申請或請求得到某物。如：

He applied for a scholarship. 他申請了獎學(xué)金。

I’ll apply for the job tomorrow. 我明天去申請這份工作。

注：有時可在 apply 后加上 to sb, 表示向某人申請。如：

He applied to us for help. 他向我們求援。

You must apply to the teacher for permission. 你必須請求老師批準(zhǔn)。

2.applytodosth申請做某事。如：

He applied to stay there. 他申請留在那兒。

In 1980 heappliedtojointheParty. 1980年他申請入黨。

3.applytosth(sb) 適用(運用)于某人或某物。如：

What you said doesn’t apply to me. 你所說的不適合于我。

The rule doesn’t apply to this case. 這條規(guī)則不適用于這種場合。

注：該結(jié)構(gòu)中的 to 為介詞，若后接動詞，要用動名詞。如：

These methods apply to learning English. 這些方法適用于英語學(xué)習(xí)。

4.applysthtosth把某物運用到另一物上。如：

You can’t apply this rule to every case. 你不能將這條規(guī)則運用到所有的情況。

In this way we can better apply theory to practice. 這樣我們就能更好地把理論運用到實踐中去。

5.applyoneselfto(doing)sth致力于(做)某事。如：

He applied himself to learning French. 他致力于學(xué)法語(from www.網(wǎng)址未加載)。

If you apply yourself to the job, you’ll soon finish it. 如果你努力干，這工作不要多久就可以完成。

注：該結(jié)構(gòu)中的 oneself有時可用 one’s mind, one’s energies等代之。如：

We must apply our minds to finding a solution. 我們動動腦筋找出解決的辦法來。
