1.fail(in)anexamination考試不及格，沒(méi)通過(guò)考試。如：

Half the students failed (in) the English examination. 有一半學(xué)生英語(yǔ)考試沒(méi)及格。

2.makeanexamination(of) (對(duì)……)進(jìn)行檢查。如：

He made an examination of the room. 他檢查了房間。

They made a thorough examination of the airplane after the accident. 發(fā)生事故后，他們徹底檢查了這架飛機(jī)。

3.onexamination經(jīng)過(guò)調(diào)查(查看)后。如：
