relate可以用作動詞

relate作“講述,敘述”解時是比較正式的用語,強調詳細地、完整地、有條理地、連貫地敘述自己耳聞目睹或經歷過的事情或經過。用作及物動詞,其后接名詞、代詞、疑問詞從句作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語須用to引出。

relate還可作“把…聯(lián)系起來”解,可用作不及物動詞,也可用作及物動詞。用作不及物動詞時,常與介詞to連用,用作及物動詞時,接名詞或代詞作賓語,賓語后常接介詞with。
