any other意為“其他的、其他任何一個、任何其他的”，是指在同一范圍內(nèi)除了某人或某物以外的其他人或事物。any other+名詞復數(shù)和any other+名詞單數(shù)都可以，兩者區(qū)別主要在于比較句中。

any other后加單數(shù)還是復數(shù)

單數(shù)和復數(shù)都可以。表示同一范圍比較用單數(shù)，不同范圍比較用復數(shù)。

加復數(shù)的例子：He is taller than any other girls.他比任一女孩都高。（男的與女孩相比）

加單數(shù)的例子：He is taller than any other boy.他比其他男孩高。（自己是男的，要排除自己）

any other boy 其他任何的一個男生與 other boys其他的男生、the other boy 另外一個男生，表達都不一樣。

any other的用法

1、any作“一些”講時，any other 后接可數(shù)復數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞。

例句：

Are there any other questions?

還有沒有其他問題?

2、any作“任何一個”講時，any other 后接名詞單數(shù)

例句：

Saudi Arabia produces more oil than any other country.

沙特阿拉伯的石油產(chǎn)量高于其他任何國家。

3、“當比較對象為復數(shù)名詞時，肯定句中any other后亦可以接名詞的復數(shù)形式(為口語或非正式英語)”

例句：

Are you taking any other drugs at present? 你現(xiàn)在有服用別的藥嗎?

注：any other后一般即可跟可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)，也可跟可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)，但是在“than any other”結構中，如果前面的主語是單數(shù)，后面的被比較對象只用單數(shù)：

例句：

Tim works much harder than any other empolyee in his factory. Tim 比他們工廠里的任何人工作都努力的多得多。

如果在“than any other”結構中，主語是復數(shù)，則any other+復數(shù)形式：

例句：

They perform better than any other classmates in the class.

他們比任何其他同班同學表現(xiàn)得都好。(= 他們是全班最好的。）
