no more than表示“僅僅”、“只有”(=only)，強調(diào)少；而not more than表示“不多于”、“至多”(=at most)。no more than表示對兩者都否定，意為“同……一樣不”(＝neither...nor)；而not more than指兩者雖都具有某種特征，但程度不同，意為“不如”、“不及”(=not so...as)。

1、no more than：no用作副詞可表示拒絕或否定的回答，表示“不，不是”。no作“毫不，一點兒也不”解時，常用于修飾形容詞或副詞的比較級形式，表示相反的意思，no還可用于表示驚奇或發(fā)生不幸時發(fā)出的慘呼。

2、not more than：not后可接動詞的非限定形式，動詞不定式、動名詞或分詞。在復(fù)合句中常可將not置于主語的謂語動詞之前，而不放在從句中，這稱之為轉(zhuǎn)移否定。

1、no more than：no more than屬于副詞。

2、not more than：not more than屬于名詞。
