兩者的區(qū)別：instead是副詞，通常位于句尾，意思是代替；頂替；反而；卻。instead of是復(fù)合介詞，后面可接名詞和代詞以外的詞，如形容詞，副詞，動(dòng)詞和介詞，意思是代替；作為…的替換。這兩個(gè)詞的意思相同，在語句中的用法不同。

instead造句：

If you can't sign a cross instead。如果你不會簽名畫個(gè)十字來代替。

He didn't give John the money，but he gave it to me instead。他沒有給約翰錢，而是給了我。

He is too busy，let me go instead。他太忙了，讓我去吧。

instead of造句：

Won't you be hungry if you eat fruit instead of dinner？你用水果代替晚餐肚子不會餓嗎？

He suggested doing some work instead of watching TV。他提議做些工作而不是看電視。

She went to school instead of staying at home。她沒有呆在家里，而是去上學(xué)了。
